Alex AguilarAlex Aguilar '00, '02, '04 is currently the Regional Sales Manager for 3P Learning overseeing Florida and the Southeastern United States. Alex sells Math and Spelling online software to school and school districts across his territory. Prior to transitioning to the private sector, Alex taught for ten years in both Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the Archdiocese of Miami. He has also taught at Southwest Miami Senior High School, Hammocks Middle School and Archbishop Coleman Carroll High School. Alex received Bachelor's and Master's degrees from FIU in Social Studies Education and a Certificate in Educational Leadership.






Nicole BronisNicole Bronis '08 has a decade of experience teaching and building individualized educational programs for struggling and urban K-12 students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Mrs. Bronis holds a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Master of Science in Therapy from Florida International University. As the Director of Private Programs at One on One Learning Corp., she coordinates and develops all private-school and out-of-school programs in our corporate office in Miami, Florida. She has developed a comprehensive educational and recreational summer camp and Spring Break camp model that she has implemented and directed for the past nine years.





Renita Ferreira Renita Ferreira '11 currently teaches at Miami Dade College (MDC) as well as provides Professional Development in global education, global competence and global awareness. While working on her doctorate, she developed an instrument to measure Ďglobal awareness.í It is the only one in the field of education and is currently being used by other doctorate students. In addition to her doctorate, Renita has Masterís degrees in Education and Multiculturalism and Bachelorís degrees in the Arts, Hospitality and Education. She is actively engaged in research and has presented at many professional conferences. Renitaís work has been published in The One Voice International Collection of Scholarly Works (2011) and her dissertation has been published as a book with the title, Global awareness: Looking Through the Lens of the Social Sciences. She is on the Steering Committee of the South Florida Education Research Conference (SFERC) and a founding member of the Graduate Student Network


Gail HanseníGail Hansen '78, '80 joined Florida International University in 2013 as Director of Talent Management and Development. Previously, Gail held senior leadership roles in the field of Learning and Human Resource Development as Vice President of Learning at Fifth Third Bank, Chief Learning Officer and Senior Vice President of Human Resources at SunTrust Bank, and Training and Organizational Development Director at Royal Caribbean Cruises International and Sunglass Hut.

After earning her B.A. in English Literature at FIU, she began her career as an Instructional Designer for Ryder Systems. While in this role, she continued her education, and earned a Master of Science in Adult Education. She attributes the opportunities she was given, her career growth and success, and her continuing passion for Adult Education and HRD to the Adult Education program in FIUís College of Education.

Gail is an active member of the Association for Talent Development, formerly known as ASTD. In 2012, she was appointed to Chair the ASTD International Conference and EXPO. In that role, she led the Program Advisory Council in the selection and programming of 300+ educational seminars. She also served three terms on the ASTD National Public Policy Council, representing the issues of industry and higher education on Capitol Hill. She was highlighted in T&D Magazine for her work in creating a learning brand and culture for SunTrust Bank.


Elliott MasonElliott Mason '03 is the CEO of NuAge PC, LLC, a technology solution company that he created in 2005. He also started a second new venture called SoBeCareful.org. He was born in England and raised in Antigua and Barbuda, a small island in the Caribbean, that has a population of about 80 thousand people -- less than twice the FIU student body population! He came to the United States when he was 18 years old to attend Florida International University on a Track and Field Scholarship. He received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at FIU.







Javier OlmedoJavier Olmedo '96, '00 has vast experience both in the public and private sectors of education and business. Within the school setting he was a dedicated teacher and coach at Rockway Middle and Miami Coral Park Senior High School where his teaching went beyond the walls of the classroom. While teaching, he went on to earn his Masters in Urban Education with a track in Technology from the College of Education at FIU and expand his research base as well as hands-on knowledge. Additionally, he has been an Adjunct Faculty member in the College of Education's Department of Teaching and Learning since 2000 where he enjoys educating future teachers and having a small part in the future of education in Miami-Dade County. Within the private sector, he worked as an Educational Consultant for MacMillan/McGraw Hill training teachers and parents on how to maximize the effectiveness of textbooks, technology and supplemental materials. When heís not in the classroom at FIU or attending campus events, he can be found in the community helping individuals buy, sell, or rent their homes. His love of teaching has transitioned into a successful business in real estate where he currently educates buyers and sellers on market trends and options in todayís ever changing real estate market. Javier enjoys giving back to the community and dedicates his time to ensuring an ever expanding educational experience for the future.


Sean ProspectSean Prospect is the Executive Director of the FIU After-School All-Stars, current Board Chairman of the Miami-Dade Coalition for Community Education and in-game stage/court manager for the Miami HEAT. With his passion for helping others in need, Sean has dedicated his time to serving underprivileged children in the South Florida chapter of the largest middle school focused after school program in America. By obtaining over $14 million in grants and creating numerous programs for children, he strives to make his community a better and safer place. Sean has acquired a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science (2002) and a Master's Degree in Sports Management (2003) from Florida International University. He was also a four year member of the FIU Honors College. When Sean is away from work, he enjoys reading, cooking, and creating fun and challenging games with his children. He is married to his lovely wife, Dawn and they have two daughters.
