Frost Professor of Art and Director of Art Education
Professor David Y. Chang is a nationally renowned artist. Permanently endorsed by one of the world's most prestigious art institutions Sennelier-Savoir Faire in Paris, his paintings have won numerous professional awards and fellowships including “best of Show” prizes at Florida juried professional art exhibitions. In his over twenty years at FIU, Professor Chang has had more than 90 juried exhibitions, artistic commissions, book and lithograph publications. His artwork has been exhibited and collected internationally. His painting commissions include important politicians, corporate executives as well as college and university presidents such as US senator Bob Graham, Dr. and Mrs. Phillip Frost, Dr. and Mrs. Sanford Ziff, President McCabe of Miami Dade College, and President Gregory Wolfe of Florida International University. Professor Chang has been the recipient of the Florida Higher Education Art Educator Award and the Florida Art Education Distinguished Service Award. His teachings in art and art education are highly respected internationally.
