COE Departments:
The College of Education offers over 15 undergraduate degree programs and nearly 40 graduate degree programs, all of which are housed within three departments; Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, and Educational and Psychological Studies. The departments are listed below in alphabetical order, and additional information on the departments and their programs is provided.
Curriculum and Instruction
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers initial teacher preparation at the undergraduate and graduate levels leading to certification in Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, and Secondary areas. The College offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Early Childhood Education (Age 3 to Grade 3, and TESOL endorsed), Elementary Education (Grades 1-6, and TESOL endorsed), Middle School Education, Secondary Level Education and Advanced Masters programs in Reading and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies offers programs and courses for students interested in working in a wide range of organizational, urban, multicultural, and international contexts of education and training. Graduate and advanced graduate programs include Educational Leadership, Adult Education and Human Resource Development, International and Intercultural Development, Higher Education, and Urban Education. The department also houses the undergraduate and graduate professional educational foundations core courses, which fulfill the certification requirements for initial and advanced teacher education programs, and meet the professional studies core for master's and doctoral levels degrees.

Educational and Psychological Studies
The Educational and Psychological Studies Department offers programs in counselor education, school psychology and special education and courses in educational psychology and research. Its faculty is committed to educating professionals for work in a multiethnic, multicultural urban environment. The department offers graduate degrees in Special Education, Counselor Education in Mental Health, Counseling, School Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, School Psychology.
