A formal request and a college-wide email
list serve announcement from the Office of Technology will
be sent to all department chairs and secretaries in charge
of class scheduling on or about December 15th of each year
to schedule classes for the Summer and Fall semesters, and,
no later than June 15th of each year to schedule classes
for the next year’s Spring semester. To be considered
for Educational Laboratory support, the department must
submit a formal request to the Office of Technology listing
all classes (i.e., class numbers; dates/times; and type(s)
of equipment/software required) NLT 30 days after the receipt
of initial notification. If conflicts exist, the Office
of Technology will call a meeting of all department chairs
and secretaries in charge of class scheduling to resolve
these conflicts. All scheduling decisions will be based
on the “Levels of Technology Utilization Within Courses”
(See Attachment A) and, conflicts will be resolved NLT 90
days before the start date of the semester being scheduled.
After the processing of the departmental
and faculty requests, Educational Laboratory utilization
will be scheduled on a first come - first served, as needed
basis.
The staff of the Office of Technology
will notify the departments and faculty immediately if scheduling
conflicts exist, and every effort will be made to accommodate
all requests to maximize the utilization of the limited
COE Educational Laboratory resources available.
The official Educational Laboratory schedule
will be disseminated college-wide by the Office of Technology.
The official schedule will also be posted outside the entrance
of the labs, and all faculty and staff are expected to adhere
to this schedule.
