Survey for Undocumented Student about Plans after High School 

Thank you for taking the time to come to this site.

I’m Dr. Glenda Musoba and we want to learn more about the plans undocumented students have for the time after high school.

Some questions you might have.

Who do we want to fill out the survey?
We want Florida high school students whose legal status in the US expired or who do not have legal paperwork.  We only want students who are affected by either their or their families’ status as undocumented in the US. If you and your family are US citizens, please do not fill out the survey.

By undocumented (sometimes called illegal immigrants), we mean individuals who do not have legal status as citizens, resident aliens, etc.

What do you have to do?
It will take you about 30 minutes to click on your answers. There are no right or wrong answers.

Are there any risks to you?
We aren’t asking your name and our computer won’t collect any information about where you filled out the survey. No one will know you filled out the survey. These questions shouldn’t be difficult, but if at any time you want to stop, you can quit.

What do you get out of it?
There is no reward or payment for your time for filling out the survey. We can only say thank you. Your answers will help us better understand and serve students like you in the future.

Who will know your answers or that you filled out the survey? 
This survey does not ask your name or other identifying information so your survey answers and name cannot be traced back to you. Once you finish, the link between you and your answers ends. Also, when we report the results of the survey, we will always group the answers together. We are going to keep everybody’s answers together in one file for a year or two while we summarize the results.

What if you have questions now or later on? 
If you have questions about the study, you or your parent can call me, Dr. Glenda Musoba at 305-348-2450. If you or your parent feels like you weren’t treated fairly during the study or you have questions regarding your rights as a volunteer in this research study you may call Dr. Patricia Price, the Chairperson of the Institutional Review Board at 305-348-2618 or 305-348-2494.
