Brief Description of the Program:

The Bachelor of Science in Parks and Recreation: Recreational Therapy Track offers professional preparation programs designed to prepare students for employment in recreational therapy services. The curricula have been designed to meet or exceed the standards established by the National Recreation and Park Association’s Council on Accreditation and the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification standards for certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.

Admission Requirements:

  • A minimum lower-division GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale;
  • Either 60 credit hours of lower division coursework or an AA degree from an accredited institution;
  • A passing score on all sections of the CLAST exam;
  • Must meet the following lower division requirements:
    • University Core/General Education;
    • Foreign language;
    • Program prerequisites.
